THE MISSION CALEB
The Mission Caleb project started in Brazil and in 2016, the sixth edition took place in the Valais, in Sion. You are invited to participate in our seventh edition, which will be held in the region of Geneva, more precisely in its capital, Geneva.
The first edition of Mission Caleb in Switzerland took place in 2012 in La Chaux-de-Fonds with only 12 people. In 2013, in Lausanne and Yverdon the mission already had 33 courageous volunteers. The third edition happened in the city of Geneva, and was attended by 51 calebianos.
During the activities in the third edition, we received more than 300 visitors and 100 people interested to know more of the church. Nearly 10,000 books and 150,000 flyers were given on the streets.
In 2015, the Mission Caleb happened in three cities at the same time: Bienne, Delémont and Neuchâtel. There were over 90 volunteers! The group was gathered for 17 days, giving free hugs, smiles and inviting the population to attendance the activities which had been prepared by them, such like: mime presentation, music, testimonies, film festival, lectures for couples, health and conferences.
In the year 2016, the Mission Caleb landed in the Italian part of Switzerland, in Ticino. With a team of more than 70 volunteers, divided between the cities of Lugano and Locarno, the Calebians did more than the traditional activities - being the main one the free hugs - they also distributed water bottles around parks with the message John 4: 13-14 and they exchanged apples for a cigarette, prompting people to quit smoking and inviting them to the course ‘how to quit smoking in five days’.
The seed was planted, we will continue working and praying reap many rewards. With Jesus, everything is possible!
